Consumer Protection & Business Practices

Choosing a roofing contractor is not just about price – it is about protecting your home, finances, and long-term investment. Below are several practices we follow to help protect our customers and operate our business responsibly.

Fully Insured

Honour Roofing & Construction carries both General Liability and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

  • General Liability Insurance helps protect the homeowner in the event of accidental property damage.

  • Workers’ Compensation Insurance protects homeowners from potential liability if a worker is injured while working on their property.

    • One thing that makes Honour Roofing Unique is that even our sales team are not independent contractors, so they are covered under the same Workers Comp insurance as our workers

In North Carolina, hiring an uninsured contractor can expose a homeowner to significant financial risk. For your protection, you are welcome to verify our active coverage directly with the insurance provider listed on our attached Certificate of Insurance.

Surety Bond Protection

Honour Roofing & Construction was founded in 2022 and proudly offers a 10-Year Workmanship Warranty.

To provide additional peace of mind, we also maintain a Surety Bond which provides up to $50,000 of coverage for qualifying warranty-related repairs in the highly unlikely event our company were no longer in business during the warranty period.

We believe warranties should be backed by more than words alone.

Licensed General Contractor

Our company carries an in-house North Carolina General Contractor license held directly by Co-Owner Caitlynne Honour.

Some companies operate using a third-party “qualifier” license holder with little involvement in daily operations. That is not our model. Our license is held directly within our ownership team and reflects our direct accountability to our customers.

While we offer additional exterior and construction services, roofing remains our primary specialization. We believe in being highly specialized rather than spreading ourselves too thin across unrelated trades.

Photo Documentation & Quality Control

Every project is managed with photo documentation throughout the installation process.

This provides:

  • Transparency for the homeowner

  • Quality control verification

  • Documentation of completed work

  • Reduced guesswork regarding what was actually installed or repaired

Customers receive project photos for their records upon completion.

Referral-Based Business Model

Our business is built primarily through referrals and customer recommendations – not aggressive door knocking or high-pressure sales tactics.

We believe the best form of marketing is earning the trust and recommendation of the homeowners we serve.

Lien Protection

If a contractor fails to pay subcontractors or material suppliers, those parties may be able to place liens against the homeowner’s property.

Honour Roofing & Construction includes contractual protections intended to help shield our customers from subcontractor and supplier lien claims. In addition, we operate with conservative financial management practices and prioritize paying our vendors and crews promptly and responsibly.

Honest Guidance Regarding Insurance Claims

We do not pressure homeowners into filing insurance claims unnecessarily.

Many roofing companies rely heavily on insurance-driven sales tactics that may encourage homeowners to file claims even when it may not be financially beneficial long term. Insurance claims can contribute to higher premiums, policy non-renewals, and claim history that follows the homeowner between carriers.

Our approach is simple:
We provide honest, factual information so homeowners can make informed decisions that are best for their home, family, and finances.
